Piano Pieces by Hannah

My name is Hannah and I am six years old and in first grade. This is my first blog post.  I have been playing the piano and violin for 8 months. Today, my mom recorded a few pieces that I just learned. The first one is called Sonatina in F major by Beethoven. The second is called Badinerie by Bach. My sister Miriam played this piece when she was in third grade. Here is her post. The third one is called Sonatina by Kuhlau. My favorite piece is Badinerie. It is also the hardest piece for me because both hands have different melodies. It is hard to sometimes play loud and sometimes quiet. I am now learning Waltz of the Flowers from the Nutcracker Ballet. I will record it next time when I learn it better. I love playing the piano.

Which is your favorite piece?

  3. Hannah,
I am so impressed with your ability to play the piano at such a young age, and in such a short time of learning. I enjoyed all 3 pieces of music. I think you are very fortunate to have such a nice family to help you with your first blog.

I am a teacher and I am just now learning how to blog for a graduate class that I am taking. I hope that I can teach my students how to blog so they can learn to share their ideas with others. You and your sisters are an inspiration to me. Here is a link to my blog so you can see what I wrote about your first blog. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. 1. @Ms. Teresa,

Thank you for leaving me a comment. What subject are you going to teach? When I grow up I want to be a piano teacher? My sister plays the piano, and I play the violin.

Are you exited to teach your students? When will you start teaching? What grade are you going to teach? If I were a teacher I would teach first grade.

    2. Hannah,
I have been a teacher for a long time - 29 years! I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. This year I am teaching something new - computers to children in kindergarten-5th grades. That is why I am taking a class about technology. I am learning different ways to use technology with my classes. Maybe I will have my first grade students watch your blog so they can see what a blog is.

I think you would make a good piano teacher because you are so good already. Your sisters are good also. (I watched the videos of them.) You have a very musically talented family. Do your parents and brother play instruments?

    3. Dear Mrs. Teresa,

Thank you so much for responding back to me! I can't believe you have been teaching for 29 years.

Have you ever taught computers? Our computer teacher left in the beginning of the year, and we just play games when we go to the lab.

My mom plays the piano, but my dad and my brother don't. Do you play any instrument? If so, what kind? Who are your favorite composers? My favorite are Bach and Chopin.

      Sincerely,
      Sarah

    4. I really like your comment. Which school do you teach? What are you going to teach them? I play the piano and the violin and my other sisters also plays the piano and the violin and my older sister plays the piano, and my other older sister plays the piano and the violin.

My brother also used to play but now he doesn't. Have you ever played any instrument? I started playing the piano when I was four or three.

  4. Hi Hannah,
I teach at a small school in Milford, IL. My kindergarten students are learning to use the mouse in computer class. They play games to help them. Have you ever gone to ABCYA.com? That is where my kindergarten-5th graders like to go when they can play games. My first grade students are learning to find the keys so they can type stories. Do you have computer class at school? I played the piano a long time ago but I was never as good as you are! I played the french horn when I was in 5th grade - college. I haven't played it for a long time either. I hope you continue with your music.
